What is Therapy Success?

Therapy Success is a private practice that works within the Humanistic and relational approach of psychotherapeutic counselling. You will already know that relationships can hurt us. So here is your chance to experience a relationship with professional boundaries, that has the sole aim of healing. I will explain more about relational therapy when we meet, but feel free to look up Petruska Clarkson or Carl Rogers as a sample of what I am getting at. I’d love to know what you think.

Back when I started my private practice, I chose the name ‘Therapy Success’ because I thought it sounded positive and snappy – like there is an easy ‘fix’ to our problems. The truth is that sometimes, parts of your therapy might feel raw or uncomfortable. Those processes probably indicate the most potent and deeper areas of your therapy journey. This is where change awaits.

But don’t worry – part of my job is to monitor your levels of tolerance, to encourage you, to be consistent and reliable, and to help you cultivate a good level of self-care and self- compassion. I’m on your side.

Tailored to You

If you are person who likes structure in your therapy, we can create a contract and set goals, or include some psycho-education from the fascinating world of Transactional Analysis (TA), as TA formed the backdrop to my clinical training (see the ‘About Me’ page for more on this).

Therapy Success is male-friendly (around half my clients are men), queer-inclusive and neurodivergent affirmative.

Do not be afraid to get in touch about any of the following: trauma, abuse, addictions, issues related to your sex and sexuality, death and grief (loss), suicidal thoughts, obsessions, self-harm. I have experience in talking to people about all these issues, and more.

Feel free to visit my Psychology Today page for more info and a video of me talking, by clicking here: Psychology Today

Where is Therapy Success?

Welcome to my therapy room, which is located in my home. Would you like a cup of tea or coffee? Or maybe a smoothie? Do you need an extra cushion? I want you to be as physically comfortable as possible. Oh, and the door to your left, just before you enter, that’s the bathroom. Feel free to use it at any point.

You can find me in central West Bridgford (NG2), which is a leafy suburb of Nottingham. There is free parking outside and bus stops very close by.

How much will it cost?

My fee is £50 for the hour. I do have some concessionary sessions available – please get in touch for more information.

You can opt for weekly or fortnightly sessions.

Weekdays and weekday evenings are available.
